After breaking into a home of a former girlfriend, in violation of an order of protection, on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, police say, Rosales engaged two New York City Police sergeants in a gun battle in the Bronx Borough of New York.
During the shootout, Tuozzolo was shot in the head and a bullet grazed Kwo's leg. The department later wrote that he had been pronounced dead at the scene.
Two NYPD police officers have been shot in the Bronx and have been removed to the hospital.

According to The AWARE Project on Facebook, Baytown police issued an update on their investigation on Wednesday. Her grandmother said the family is focused on bringing Fritch home. "He just seemed like a lowlife", she said.
Officers on patrol pursued Rosales, pulled him over and were attempting to arrest him when he opened fire, said the official, who wasn't authorized to discuss the ongoing case and spoke on the condition of anonymity. That auto was spotted by a marked NYPD vehicle.
The gunman, Manuel Rosales, fired on officers who had stopped his vehicle following a brief pursuit near a ballfield, a law enforcement official said. The suspect was hit when officers returned fire, and two sergeants were hit in the exchange of bullets.
One officer approached the vehicle and was shot in the face by the suspect, The New York Times reported.
The suspect, who was armed with multiple weapons, was reportedly shot and killed.
Holder was the fourth officer killed by gunfire in less than a year.
