Earlier on November 17, Jayalalithaa party AIADMK in a statement said that she was doing well in the hospital and the recovery is like her rebirth. "However respiratory support is being given to her periodically to ensure that her lungs don't collapse", Mr Reddy told reporters on the sidelines of an event organised by his hospital.
Reddy, in a media briefing, said that Jayalalithaa has still been kept in the ICU to avoid any chances cross-infection. "Her mental function is absolutely normal", the Apollo chairman said.
Reddy said that the CM had recovered "completely".

Ms Jayalalithaa was examined by British expert Dr Richard Beale and specialists from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences during her stay at the Apollo Hospitals and is now under the monitoring of a team of expert doctors.
