When asked if he'll miss it, Len confessed, "Listen, I'm sure when I'm sitting at home next series watching it on TV, I'll turn to my Sue and say "why didn't I do it?"
Craig-Revel Horwood had previously said he would love to see Len spin around the dancefloor on his last outing, saying: "I'm hoping we might see him dance, because Len's a fantastic dancer".
Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on Wednesday's (30 November) episode of 'This Morning', he said: "Poor old Ed! For me, I'd much rather go and people say, 'Oh Len, it's not going to be the same, ' rather than, 'Thank heavens that old boy has gone, he was getting dithery.' You've got to know when to hold them and fold them".
However he will not be hanging up his dancing shoes just yet - Ed will be taking part in the Strictly live tour which kicks off in Birmingham on January 20.
"This is the first year, hand on heart, I say that whoever wins is alright with me because it's such a great series", he said.
"I started off as a novice and I've worked hard to improve but the longer the competition went on the higher the standard, the judges were looking for more and more".
