The character debuted during the first season of Marvel's Jessica Jones and will be a major part of Marvel's The Defenders, a crossover miniseries bringing together the four main heroes of Marvel's Netflix-verse: Cage, Jones, Daredevil, and Iron Fist.
Marvel's Netflix schedule made it hard to discern when additional seasons of the four (now five) heroes would debut, but it seems Luke Cage's work is far from over. So far, Netflix has their hands full with a variety of Marvel shows. See the character next in 2017's Marvel's The Defenders and possibly Iron Fist. Seasons 3 and 2 of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, respectively, are likely coming in 2018.
