Wisconsin election officials are set to hold their last meeting with county clerks before launching a presidential recount. Her campaign told the AP that more 137,000 people have contributed to the recount effort. Republicans on Capitol Hill in Washington dismissed the recount effort, which Ms. Stein insists isn't aimed at swinging the election results.
Interestingly, the group also addressed the recent claims by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein that there were issues with the voting technology used in several states, including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and MI. The complaint comes the day before the scheduled start of the recount of Wisconsin's vote, won by Republican Donald Trump by 22,000 votes - less than 1 percentage point. The results were finally certified on Monday, nearly three weeks after Election Day.
"The cost of this recount to MI taxpayers could easily reach into the millions of dollars".
Stein has spearheaded a recount effort in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, states that have a history of backing Democrats for president and where Trump won unexpectedly and narrowly over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Attorney Matthew Brinckerhoff, who represented the Stein campaign in court, maintained that failing to do a hand recount will result in continued questions about the vote totals.
According to Nevada's Secretary of State, no one has submitted any request for a recount.
The order for a December 5 hearing came a day after the campaign of failed Green Party candidate Jill Stein filed the request.
"I think they should pursue it and I think Stein and the Green Party should pursue in the states they are pursuing it", said Zaino. He defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in MI by 10,704 votes out of almost 4.8 million ballots cast. If the three states were to move into Clinton's column, she would win the Electoral College with 278 electoral votes - but again, this is exceedingly unlikely.
"This was zooming in on the states that have the markings of being most vulnerable to hacking because they had thin margins", Stein said.
In the run-up to the elections, there were significant breaches including that of emails of the Democratic National Committee and voter registration databases in at least two states. In 2004, the Green Party did succeed in obtaining a recount in OH in the presidential race. She encourages counties to voluntarily conduct a hand recount.
