But I also think it's important, if possible, to keep a couple of key coaches who have been a big part of the success in the past, coaches known by fans and trusted to sell the program well on the recruiting trail.
The Oregon Ducks introduced new Head Coach Willie Taggart on Thursday and after some pomp and circumstance from The University President Michael Schill and Rob Mullens, Taggart took to the podium.
The 56-year-old was sacked at Texas last month after going 5-7 this season and going 16-21 in three seasons at the university.
Taggert quoted one of Jim Harbaugh's favorite sayings when he said that everyone in his program would "attack with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind". They both recruit well and would complement each other as coaches.
"I'm going to be me", he said.
Even though true freshman Justin Herbert appears to have a bright future as Oregon's starting quarterback, Taggart is looking to add competition and depth at the most vital position.
Mercedes runs job ad for F1 driver with 'proven track record'
IF you think you can drive a vehicle as good as Lewis Hamilton then maybe its time to respond to a job that Mercedes have posted. "In the heat of the moment, sometimes when you make decisions you get them wrong", Wolff said.
Taggart's job is to get OR relevant again nationally. But Oregon finished the regular season ranked 126th out of 128 FBS-level teams for total defense, allowing opponents an average of 528.4 yards per game. Offensively they ran the ball well and got after you, and defensively they got after you.
Taggert says he believes that he can get the team back there - that the opportunity to do so is one of the reasons he took the job.
"He's a good football player". "We're going to get after it, we're going to recruit the best of the best".
Taggart plans to retain the recruits who have verbally committed to OR and get to work on growing the 2017 class.
"I feel like we can win a national championship here".
