An American flag now decorates thousands of gravestones at the Clovis Cemetery- markers for the annual wreath laying ceremony, with full military honors.
Wreaths Across America Spokeswoman Amber Caron said more than 44,000 volunteers helped lay 245,000 wreaths at Arlington on Saturday. It was originally started at Arlington National Cemetery where yearly 240,000 wreathes are collected and placed on veterans grave stones.
Wreaths are specially designated for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and POW/MIA.
"We placed 4,437 wreaths at Knoxville National, 4,320 at Lyons View and 1,161 at John Sevier", Johnson said.
Wreaths Across America is meant to honor the service and sacrifice of those who served in the military.

In 2015, only seven wreaths were donated to be laid at Alexandria National Cemetery on Wreaths Across America day. Fundraising efforts led to an increase of more than 1,100 wreaths from the 2015 event. "This event is a wonderful way to bring awareness and patriotism to Williamsport".
