After last week's absence of Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump, and the comparatively oblique references to the U.S. president-elect himself, you might have thought there was a chance that this week's Saturday Night Live cold open would have turned to another topic entirely-as sure a sign as any that it's time to move on.
"I was just in town, you know, hiding in the walls", Putin says. "We think you are the best candidate, the smartest candidate, the Manchurian candidate". "The ball was deflated.' I guess Donald Trump was just acting like a Patriot".
And later in the show, Kate McKinnon-as-Hillary Clinton shows up Love Actually-style to try to convince a Trump elector not to vote for him when the electoral college meets Monday.
Later in the sketch, John Goodman shows up to play Trump's pick for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson. "This guy is blowing my mind".
The mystery got solved soon as Bennett's bare-bodied Putin popped out of the fireplace.
Oil rises on signs of producers' compliance with output cuts
Analysts believe the newly proposed cuts will support the market, provided that the countries stick to their respective deals. These cuts are expected to continue into 2017 with another two hundred thousand barrels a day forecast to be curbed.
Ask Baldwin's Trump, "What's that sound?".
"All lies made up by some very bitter people who need to move on", Baldwin's Trump said of the claims about Russian hacking, to which Beck Bennet's Putin replied, "So you trust me more than American CIA?"
Once Tillerson sees that Putin is in Trump's apartment, he becomes elated to see his old-time friend.
Saturday Night Live airs on NBC Saturdays at 11:30 pm ET.
So far, Trump has not tweeted his take on the latest SNL episode as he did two weeks ago.
