As confirmed over the weekend, Samsung has finished its investigation into the cause of the battery explosions on the Galaxy Note 7.
Though, the release date for the Galaxy S8 is yet to be confirmed, speculations already spread like wildfire that it will be released on or before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 tradeshow in NY.
Another major factor that should be taken into consideration is the improved hardware that Samsung plans to include inside the Galaxy S8, as well as the addition of its new AI digital assistant.
The Samsung Note 7 was likely the biggest disaster in Samsung's corporate history.

A year after that keynote, in November 2014, Samsung came out with the very first smartphone that displayed information on an edge surface: the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. Neither Samsung or LG have yet made an official comment on the deal.
