A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for Southwest Montana through Sunday. Valleys could see between 2"-5" of snow with mountain passes picking up between 4"-9" of snow. Rain is expected to change to snow on hills and elevated terrain Friday afternoon as the snow level drops.
It'll be a white Christmas for much of the nation as Jack Frost nips at noses stretching from the Rocky Mountains to the upper Midwest on Christmas Eve with possible severe weather in the middle of the US on Christmas Day.

The chances for a white Christmas around the Front Range are starting to diminish. Expect rain, or freezing drizzle, as temperatures climb.
