In the wee hours of Thursday morning, Chance the Rapper nonchalantly tweeted a pretty huge gift for his fans: a Christmas mixtape he collaborated on with Jeremih, featuring appearances from Noname and Hannibal Buress.
The Grammy-nominated rapper has released his new project Merry Christmas Lil' Mama, with the help of longtime collaborator Jeremih.
Few have gotten into this year's Christmas spirit as much as Chance.
2016's shittiness has been meme-worthy, but it's the holidays and that means remembering the things that we're thankful for.

Chicagoans Chance and Jeremih, have worked together in the past, so the collaboration isn't shocking, it's just a pleasant surprise. Listen to Merry Christmas Lil' Mama below.
He's also made history several times this year.
It's clear the mixtape was recorded fairly recently as Chance the Rapper reacts to the seven Grammy nominations he received in early December, including best new artist and best rap album for his streaming-only mixtape Coloring Book. Feeding into the wide span of emotions that informs every holiday season is the reminder of those who we're no longer celebrating with. (Even Michael Jackson, departed since 2009, looms large via Jeremih's interpolation of the Jackson 5 classic "I Want You Back" on "Stranger At the Table.") Again, sad, but also comforting, and full of love - the most important element in any collection of holiday music.
