Today, the mission was handed a big boost as CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, promised to not only help train people as part of this scheme, but also help them get jobs via the professional networking site, LinkedIn.
The tech company has launched a lighter version of Skype video and voice calling service that enables users to run the application from their low-end smartphones. The Skype Bot Platform, started previous year, allowed developers to make their own chatbot to serve different requirements. When both the interviewer and the interviewee are on call, the interviewee just needs to enter their 12-digit ID, along with an OTP number registered through their mobile. This new version allows more people to use Skype, use less data, use less power, and take on other network challenges.
Skype Lite will be a whole new app for Android and can be downloaded from Play Store. Facebook Lite was one such app launched in 2015, and now Microsoft has made a similar version of its video calling app Skype. What's more, the app will also send alerts via SMS messages. The platform is said to combine Microsoft's cloud, video and other technologies with LinkedIn's assets, and will also allow any training content provider to offer their courses over the cloud. But the problem is that you don't control the data in that scenario.
The inclusion of bots is another new feature.
Kelly Says New Immigration Order Will Vet in More Reliable Way
The replacement order could be issued as early as tomorrow, the Journal reported, citing a United States government official. A federal judge in Virginia recently cited those comments in a forceful order declaring that the ban should be put on hold.
With this integration, Skype users will be able to authenticate the identity of unknown callers in a variety of situations where identification verification is required, including job interviews, goods and property sale. With apps like these, it makes the deal all the more sweeter.
The app seems quite promising and effective for markets like India where poor internet connectivity is still a major concern no matter what telecom operators claim for their network reach. For instance, the app has Horoscope bot to offer you Horoscope information, a Skype support bot to help you out in using the app and some interactive bots like Meme cat, Your face, etc that are quite fun to use. This version of app is flawless for the nation, because it also supports multiple Indian languages such as Gujarati, Bengali, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
This Skype Lite for India features Skype Bots, WiFi usage monitoring, mobile data checking, and SMS filtering. He cited Microsoft's work with the Andhra Pradesh government that used machine learning to identify the reasons for students dropping off from high school.
