After a video surfaced earlier this year, showing Kalanick arguing with an Uber driver, the CEO admitted he needed leadership help, and announced his search for a new chief operating officer. Uber said that despite an "incredibly challenging" last two months, the company saw more growth in the first 10 weeks of 2017 than it did during the same period in 2016.

He added that Turkey has already begun taking retaliatory measures and that these would continue. Ankara has threatened to scrap the deal many times before.
As multiple reporters asked about the fate of Kalanick as CEO of the world's most valuable tech startup, Huffington defended Kalanick repeatedly and said he's shown a willingness to be accountable for the problems inside his company and take initiative to turnaround his company.
In response, Uber announced it would launch an investigation led by Eric Holder, who served under President Barack Obama as attorney-general, the highest ranking police officer in the US. Huffington said she expects his report by late April and that it will be made public. He said that it was a tough decision to make however he doesn't see any future for him with the company.
"We also need to give drivers a say in fare adjustments instead of relying on what a rider tells us".
Holt also described steps Uber is taking to improve its driver operations and relationships, noting that it's "underinvested in the driver experience" thus far, leading to "frayed" relationships with its drivers.
