North Korea has confirmed the detention of another American citizen for alleged acts aimed at overthrowing the country.
Kim Sang-Duk, or Tony Kim, became the third American held in the North when he was detained at the capital's airport on April 22 as he tried to leave the country, after teaching for several weeks at an elite university. Kim is accused of committing "hostile criminal acts with an aim to subvert the country".
DPRK is a reference to North Korea's formal name, the Democratic People's Repubic of Korea.
On Wednesday, however, the KCNA appeared to have had enough and fired back at China after a Beijing official told both the USA and North Korea, along with Japan and South Korea, to "stop irritating each other".
Rex Tillerson said China has reaffirmed support for a "denuclearised" Korean peninsula but that U.S. would test their commitment.
Incidentally, the situation remains tense in the Korean peninsula as the USA and North Korea have been trading threats toward each other in recent weeks. He called Kim a "smart cookie" for seizing and retaining power after the death of his father, Kim Jong Il, in 2011.
"We understand that this detention is related to an investigation into matters that are not connected in any way with the work of PUST", the school said.
The Pyongyang University of Science and Technology is the only privately funded university in North Korea.

Reuters reports that after calls within China to enact more nuclear sanctions, the DPRK issued an aggressive statement. Intelligence officials estimate that North Korea could be less than two years away from striking the US.
"The protection of USA citizens is one of the Department's highest priorities", the department said in a statement.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the US was preparing new sanctions against North Korea if Pyongyang takes steps that warrant new sanctions.
Kim Dong Chul, who was born in South Korea but is also believed to have USA citizenship, is serving a sentence of 10 years for espionage.
Warmbier, a University of Virginia student, was arrested in January 2016 while on a tour of North Korea.
