Saudi Arabia and its allies Saturday welcomed an accusation by President Donald Trump that Qatar was bankrolling extremism but ignored a separate United States call for them to ease their economic blockade.
But the states did not respond to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's warning of humanitarian consequences.
Hamas welcomed Al-Thani's statements with spokesman Fawzi Barhoum saying they "expressed the noble Arab character" and Qatar's support of "the Palestinian people and its legitimate resistance".
He said the blockade was "impairing U.S. and other worldwide business activities in the region" and that the U.S. backed mediation efforts being pursued by Kuwait.
Qatar has so far refused to comply with demands made by Saudi Arabia and the UAE that it give up its core foreign policy of supporting a spectrum of Islamist groups, and has faced escalating pressure from its two larger GCC neighbours.
Saudi Arabia said it was committed to "decisive and swift action to cut off all funding sources for terrorism" in a statement carried by the state news agency SPA, while Bahrain hailed USA efforts to ensure "international solidarity" on the issue.

External affairs ministry said India is closely following the emerging situation in the region in the wake of the recent decision by Saudi Arabia and some other countries to break diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar.

Russian Federation yesterday urged dialogue between the parties, as Qatar's foreign minister arrived in Moscow seeking support from overseas in the dispute. "We can not be happy in a situation when the relations between our partners are worsening".
"Qatar is confident that the review and analysis will confirm that Qatar has significant measures in place to prevent and detect efforts to launder funds and/or to use its financial systems to finance terrorist organizations", he said.
