Nitish said, 'Opposition is not for the sake of opposition. Speaking at the state executive meeting of his party, Nitish said, "The idea of a Sangh-mukt Bharat can not fructify without taking all opposition parties into confidence". Mr. Kumar was emphatic that his party had been following the coalition dharma and would always follow it. "I have said earlier also that I am not the PM face of the Opposition in 2019 neither am I eligible", he said.
"The Opposition must have an agenda and the Congress is a big party".
Instead of picking on themes like rural distress and its impact on farmers, the opposition, Nitish Kumar said, was being reactive-allowing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep the initiative. "So, we will not be a part of it (GST launch)", he said.
"The Presidential elections are being projected in such a manner that the farmers' issues have taken a back seat".
Sources claimed that Meira is scheduled to meet Nitish at Patna on Junly 6 but the Bihar CM refused to make any comment on this on Monday.
Nitish also gave indications that he is not much keen in becoming a part of any anti- BJP alliance, as he said: "Only alliance would not serve the objective of tackling the government, an alternative narrative is equally important".

It's possible: With Butler on the squad, Minnesota has transformed from an exciting young team to one with actual playoff promise. These are pretty solid numbers - the problem is he shot just 40.2 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Accusing certain "political quarters" of exaggerating differences between the two parties, the Congress spokesperson said these issues were a effect of differences over the Presidential elections. "I can not be", he said, adding, "Have you so far that someone whose name is talked about for something gets it?"
"There was no invitation, so where is the question of attending or skipping?" he added.
But, on the other hand, Congress leaders in Bihar are miffed with Nitish's digs at the party, which according to them, are doing more harm than good.
The Bihar Chief Minister on Monday declared that he was not in the race to become the Prime Minister in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and that the state's ruling Grand Alliance was very much intact. They believe it will help the Congress's revival in the state, or else, "we won't be able to win even seven seats in the next Assembly elections".
