The three Israelis stabbed to death and a fourth who was wounded were from the fenced-in West Bank settlement of Neve Tsuf.
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Friday announced a freeze of all contacts with Israel over violence in Jerusalem. The Palestinian Red Crescent says that around 140 Palestinians have been injured in the recent incident.
"A few hundred Palestinians faced off against Israeli forces guarding a gate of Jerusalem's walled Old City", said NPR's Daniel Estrin, reporting from the scene.
