Curry backed up his opening-round 74 at the Web.com Tour's Ellie Mae Classic with another one on Friday, playing even par on the back nine at TPC Stonebrae after a humdrum "first half" at 4-over. The Ellie Mae Classic field included players who have competed in majors this year and seven players who have won on the PGA Tour.
"I wanted to shoot a couple, few strokes less than I did, but for the most part, when you don't really know what to expect going in, it's hard to really set expectations", Curry told the media after his round.
After his first round, the keen golfer described it as an "amazing experience", however he will not be continuing it into the weekend. He made two birdies on the back nine but finished with another bogey on his closing hole at the Stonebrae course in Hayward, California.
"To shoot 74, 74 I will take that, " he said.
"I'm happy with it".
United States says THAAD intercept test successful
The last time the USA tested THAAD, earlier this month, it said it successfully intercepted an intermediate-range missile target. In a statement , the Army said the exercise involved Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) and South Korea's Hyunmoo Missile II.
Curry confessed that after his first 74, he was obsessed with what the golf world about it.
"All day yesterday I was checking who said what, and I don't usually do that, but it was cool to hear the chatter that was going on", said Curry.
"I want to play better tomorrow and now I've got the jitters out hopefully that will happen", he said. He did finish ahead of four players, including five-time Web.com Tour victor Matthew Goggin, and Colt McNealy, incoming Stanford freshman and younger brother of the No. 2-ranked amateur in the world, Maverick McNealy.
"It was pretty cool - really cool - to see", Spieth, an Under Armour endorser, as is Curry, continued.
Slightly more prudent bettors might consider picking Curry to make the cut, which is available at a much more attainable +1500, meaning a $10 bet would bring back $150. But after the third or fourth hole, it was just golf and I just tried to hit some good shots.
