According to WJAX/WFOX, the hospital posted a statement to Facebook saying they were aware of the video and photos, and called the images "outrages, unacceptable, and incredibly unprofessional".

Both Snaps later went viral on the internet, thanks in part to a Facebook post originally created by one of Thompson's high school classmates condemning the nurses' actions. "I hope ppl keep talking about this until these girls are held accountable".
"Hopefully excuses won't be made for their behavior", said a third user on Facebook. The statement comes after some questionable social media posts involving newborns.
