Smoke from the blaze could be seen for miles in all directions, prompting warnings from health officials for people to remain indoors.
Fox said the decision was made for Villa Park, Canyon, Orange and El Modena high schools because the fire continues to blaze and concerns about air quality, including smoke.

The structures included about a dozen destroyed homes and seven others that suffered fire damage, according to the post.

The Orange Unified School District was evacuating Running Springs Elementary School and Anaheim Hills Elementary School, with students being taken by buses to Canyon High's gymnasium.
The 91 Freeway, which reopened Monday afternoon, was expected to remain open for the morning commute.
With between 3,000 and 4,000 residents potentially impacted, mandatory evacuations have been ordered in several areas around the fire (detailed in the map below).
The Anaheim Fire update further reveals that containment is only at 5 percent.
The fire, which spread quickly due to Monday's gusty winds, had scorched about 7,500 acres Anaheim Fire Department Sgt. Daron Wyatt said Tuesday.
The fire had grown to 6,000 acres as of early Tuesday.
"To California, we say though this declaration, we are with you, our prayers are with you and we will be with you every day until we put the fires out", he said.
