The AIIA has been set up as an apex institute under the ministry of AYUSH (Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) and is expected to bring together the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda along with modern diagnostic tools and technology. He also called upon Ayush practitioners to go for research to develop medicines with immediate results but without side effects, keeping in view the demands of the times.
"Understanding this need, our government is stressing on integrating the public healthcare system with Yoga, Ayurveda and other AYUSH methods", the PM said.
The PM said the world was heading back to nature and wellness and Ayurveda was India's strength.
Ground is being prepared to give a major push to Indian medicine at public health institutions in the State, Health Minister, Dr C Laxma Reddy on Tuesday said. "Ayurveda's rich heritage and recognition as an alternative system of medicine in developed countries provides a good foundation to set an ambitious growth goal defined by increasing market share, customer access and profitability in both India and global markets".
