We are just one week away from Thanksgiving and AAA has released their predictions for a very busy Thanksgiving travel weekend.
Nearly 86 percent of local travelers - 3.3 million - will be going by vehicle to their destinations, a 3.5 percent increase from last year's 3.2 million auto travelers.
In Florida, more than 2.6 million residents will travel at least 50 miles from their home for the holiday, a 3.2 percent increase over previous year.
Most travellers - about 90 per cent, or 45.5 million people - will be on the road; a 3.2 per cent increase in automobile traffic over last year's holiday, according to the pre-holiday analysis. That's despite a higher national average for petrol prices over last year.
Travelers will hit the roads, rails and skies this Thanksgiving holiday in their largest numbers in more than a decade, lured by cheap plane tickets and a growing economy, the nation's largest motor advocacy group said.

Springfield averages $2.54 a gallon, according to AAA.
In Massachusetts, more than 1.1 million people expect to travel over Thanksgiving, and more than 975,000 of them will go by auto, AAA said. The national average is at $2.54 - a full 37 cents higher than past year, according to AAA. "However, this year flying for the holiday is not as expensive as other years with average airfares the lowest in five years".
"Idaho has experienced a seasonal price drop, but it's been slower than in recent years", Conde said.
Almost 51 million Americans are expected to travel next week, up just over three percent from a year ago.
Orlando is the No. 1 Thanksgiving destination, followed by Anaheim, California, New York City, Honolulu and Las Vegas. Already long travel times could quadruple, according to AAA. "And should help fuel consumer spending and generate a strong finish for the travel industry this year".
