Apple Inc however, has chose to evade this season and wait till early next year to launch its much awaited foray into the smart speaker industry.
"We can't wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple's breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it's ready for our customers".
Apple has delayed the launch of its smart home speaker HomePod until 2018 and reportedly said that it needed more time to work on it.
Earlier this year, Amazon announced the Echo Plus, a smart speaker with better audio quality, and Google confirmed that its Home Max speaker with improved speakers will ship in December, though it has not given a specific date.
The launch of the eagerly anticipated Apple HomePod has been delayed until next year.
Mattel shares skyrocket more than 20% on report of Hasbro takeover interest
Janus Henderson Group PLC lifted its position in shares of Mattel by 19,570.6% during the 2nd quarter. A combination of the two companies would bring an impressive portfolio of brands under one roof.
The HomePod, which Apple announced in June with a price tag of $349, features spatial awareness to improve playback and innovative signal processing to allow Siri to hear voice commands over music.
Priced at $349, Apple's smart speaker was originally set to be released in December. Instead, according to the company's statement, HomePod will begin to be available by early 2018 in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. The first quarter of 2018 may see the speakers being shipped to the U.S., the United Kingdom and the Australian markets. A lot of people would have included the Apple HomePod to their shopping list already. The rival smart speakers play music from Spotify, even though Google and Amazon have their own music streaming services. HomePod's Siri is not exactly like the Google Assistant or Alexa.
Inside the mesh-wrapped 18cm cylinder - which is not much taller than an iPhone 7 - is Apple's A8 processor (the same silicon powerplant as the iPhone 6 series) perched atop an array of speakers and microphones.
The Apple Homepod will be available in two colors: black and white.
Inside it sports an Apple A8 microprocessor, which the company claims is "the biggest brain inside of a speaker". Luckily for Apple, its new iPhone X and iPhone 8 seem to be selling well enough.
