The ambassador's recall came hours after the Palestine conveyed its "deep regrets" for the envoy's decision and assured India that they are taking serious cognizance of their Ambassador's presence at this event.
Ambassador Walid Abu Ali joined the stage with the Lashkar-e-Taiba founder at an event organised by jihadi groups on Friday, just days after New Delhi backed a United Nations General Assembly resolution that denounced Washington's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

Pakistan has refused extradition requests from the U.S. for Saeed and allows him to operate relatively freely. Palestine, however, has consistently voted against India on the J&K issue- both in the United Nations and in OIC- for years, while criticising India's growing relationship with Israel.
Saeed also referred to the controversial meeting between Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian national sentenced to death by Pakistan for alleged spying, and his wife and mother in Islamabad on December 25.
