As the morning progresses those clouds will lower and thicken and rain will ensue during the period from recess to lunch at local schools. The highest likelihood of accumulating snow is in Southeastern Massachusetts, as well as the higher elevations in New Hampshire and Vermont. A coating accumulation possible.
Saturday: Sun and clouds, quite cold. Temperatures fall into the mid 20s by afternoon.
January finished with a 34.9-degree average high temperature, 26.9-degree average daily mean temperature, and an 18.9-degree average low temperature. We could see a coating to an inch or two of snow tomorrow morning.
Drier and chilly once again to start out next week, but more rain by mid week. Mostly cloudy skies will stick around for the rest of the afternoon.
As we work through Thursday, a cold front will approach from our west. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40.
Cloudy skies, a chance of rain and snow showers and high temperatures in the low 40s are in the forecast today for Auburn and Cayuga County.
India's Preference Of Men Leaves Country With 63M Missing Women
For all the social campaigns and awareness drives to end sex selection in India, the preference for sons is still going strong. The percentage of women who did not experience physical or emotional violence also increased from 63% to 71% in this time.
Temperature will stay on the chilly side where highs don't look to even get out of the teens. Snow showers might continue into the afternoon on Friday. This should be light in nature. An Arctic front arrives tonight and will clear the state by daybreak Friday.
When all is said and done, I think a dusting to an inch looks likely for most of Eastern Kentucky. There will be travel problems due to the slick roads.
Thursday night: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Northwest wind 15 to 17 miles per hour. We will likely see the numbers steady or slowly falling through the 20s as we work through the day.
Saturday Morning Lows: Mid to upper single digits.
Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 39. Tonight, it drops all the way into the teens to low 20s in Vermont and New Hampshire, and single digits in NY away from Lake Champlain.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. That being said, some moderate to heavy snow accumulations are possible Sunday into Monday in parts of interior Northeast. It all adds up to a 1-2 punch for winter weather heading through the Super Bowl weekend ahead.
