In a sport known for its politeness, the sight of American curlers Matt and Becca Hamilton banging their brooms against the Olympic ice in frustration was a bit of a rarity. "We're kind of paving the way for all our teams", she said. NBC reported more than 5 million people watched one day of coverage for curling during those games. "If I make any of them we're in a real good position. We just didn't do it this week".

The last time Matt and Becca Hamilton faced off against Russian Federation in mixed doubles curling was at the 2017 World Championships, a match in which they were defeated 7-5. The kit contains all the equipment needed for games, including several sets of stones (which can run $10,000 a set), as well as the tools to draw targets on the ice.
"Mixed doubles is kind of designed for the viewer", said Becca. We're going to have to come back sharp. "Pretty much all the teams were on the bus so we knew they couldn't start without us". Some fans had cowbells, but they used them sparingly.

But for the next two weeks, Matt's kind of busy.
In addition to their bid in the mixed event, Becca, 27, will be curling for the USA women's team and Matt, 28, is on John Shuster's men's team. They could potentially play 18 straight days. "I'm very confident about the first match".
"Go out and try it and get back to me", said Becca.
"She couldn't find a better partner", Matt quipped. "There are things that are out of your control so you can't really sweat those things".
