Deontay Wilder is the reigning WBC heavyweight champion.
If we're honest, it's the same uncertainty that hangs over the division as a whole.
Boxing's revival would be fueled by a Super Fight in the heavyweight division with the victor emerging as the most popular and recognized fighter in combat sports. Fighters like Eric Molina and Kevin Johnson have stepped in the ring with both Wilder and Joshua, for example. There's loads of different ways we can do the fight, but let's just get it made.
Wilder said knowing he and Ortiz have traveled similar paths as fathers was a reason he agreed to defend his WBC heavyweight championship against the Cuban defector.
Whatever, three of the four heavyweight belts will be on the line when IBF and WBA "Super" holder Joshua takes on WBO champion Joseph Parker at the Principality Stadium, on March 31.
"Wilder was talking about he wants a 50-50 split". Wilder struggled a bit with Szpilka until the ninth round, when he caught Szpilka with a right cross that rendered him unconscious for several minutes.
"Come on, man. Come on", Wilder told CBS Sports' "In This Corner" podcast on Monday.
Meanwhile, in an interview with BBC Sport, Wilder has criticised Joshua for being a cash cow who's being milked by his promoter Eddie Hearn. That is just the first time they got caught.
Ortiz has a daughter, Lis, who left Cuba with her father when she was 4 years old. This is not new. We don't discriminate. When you hear the beat, you already like, "Ah, shit, we on one now! If he really wants it, he can make it happen". Ortiz is Wilder's toughest test and poses a substantial threat. He's eating the best part of the pie because he talks to promote and he's getting money. "I have too much at stake: my family, my children and the possibility to provide for them". When he signed to meet Ortiz a year ago I predicted the bout wouldn't be realized and it wasn't, and now all of a sudden it's a go? "It was my mistake not to disclose that prescription drug in the paperwork". He better take me seriously because he's going to find himself on the canvas before he knows it. I'm going to pass this test with flying colours. I drink two gallons of water per day. "So that was a great experience for me and he was teaching me a lot". From Wilder's perspective, he's just willing to do whatever it takes to finally win over his critics' respect.
"I have confidence in him that he's going to turn-up clean and he's going to give a great performance on the night of that fight and we're all going to be winners at the end of the night".
Wilder said a victory over Ortiz would make him the No. 1 heavyweight in the land, ahead of Joshua, the IBF/WBA titleholder.

Many parents have been outraged to see their daughters wrestling someone who, effectively, has the strength of a young man. To help with the process, Beggs underwent low-level shots of testosterone.
"I see a third-round knockout".
They should be supporters of his heavyweight opponent Anthony Joshua, but members of the England sevens team have visited Joseph Parker's gym in Las Vegas to offer their support.
"The old days are gone, this is the new time and the new generation".
Here's a look at where the money is going from Vegas bookmakers, along with opinions from boxing experts, boxers' trainers and my prediction for the fight.
"Deontay Wilder, a 6'7" tall former top football, basketball, and track & field star is a hard-hitting right handed power hitter who has a 97.4 % knockout ratio with 19 first round knockouts to his credit, and an arm length of 83". When I look at Ortiz, he doesn't look powerful. And that can only be realized by Joshua fighting and beating Wilder; not Ortiz. He's trying to collect as many checks as he can before it's too late. It will all be worth it on Saturday night.
Parker is priced at 10/1 to win the match by TKO/KO or disqualification, and 33/1 to win by decision.
By the standards of previous generations, Deontay Wilder is a perfectly terrible fighter. Not many people are thinking about a draw, as draws are a rare occurrence in such heavyweight division fights. He has also improved on the accuracy of his long jab to set it up.
Wilder was at his explosive best as he knocked out Bermane Stiverne inside the first round last November. Nino Valdes came close many years ago but failed.
Ortiz hasn't been given the benefit of the doubt by fans, media and certainly not Wilder because of his previous PED ordeal.
Up until late past year, I would've penalized Wilder for still being too raw. Deontay is ready to prove that he's the baddest man on the planet.
