Amid the ongoing Indo-Pak row over the harassment of each other's officials in respective missions, Pakistan on Friday said it desired peaceful relations with India on the basis of sovereign equality and mutual respect and it was important for the two countries to resolve all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, through dialogue.
The sources said, "Such incidents of harassment, intimidation and threats to the physical security of diplomats and officials are in violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, and a threat to the security and safety of the personnel of the High Commission of India".
Pakistan has also been accusing India of harassing its diplomats and releasing videos of alleged intimidation of its officials.
Pakistan's wisdom lies in bringing India to the negotiating table because war is not a favourable solution, the country's former ambassador Hasan Habib recently said at an event titled "Indian hegemonic design and its implications" organised by the Rabita Forum International in Karachi, Pakistan's frontline publication Dawn reported. "With these actions, Pakistan's neighbour has put the regional peace at stake", he was cited as saying by PTI.

He's expected to meet with Kim in April, the first time the North Korean leader has publicly met with a foreign head of state. As reports suggest, global sanctions, in turn, have resulted in North Korea facing a possible crisis of foreign cash.
Mahmood said Pakistan has sought peaceful and good neighbourly relations with all countries in South Asia, including India.
According to sources, Mahmood will host a series of events tomorrow to mark the "Pakistan National Day" at the country's mission in New Delhi, including a dinner reception.
He also stated that the issue of Kashmir can only be resolved in accordance with United Nations resolutions and wishes of the people of Kashmir.
During his stay in Pakistan, the Sri Lankan president had attended the Pakistan Day parade as guest of honor and held meetings with the President Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
