Android 9.0 is Pie, as Google has now made official.
One of the big new features Google focused on for Android 9 Pie at its I/O developer conference back in May is called Digital Wellbeing.
Now, the good news: Google offers clear directions to help you get both the Android SDK on your PC and Android 9 onto your Pixel. These can be found at Google's Factory Images web page and frankly, if you have never flashed a Factory Image or a custom ROM before, you might want to wait for the OTA update to hit your phone.
The Pixel phones have been widely praised for their photographic capability but, perhaps more importantly, they are also at the forefront of any Android updates.
Now, technically there is no way to know if this listing was posted by Google or one of its agencies, or whether this is a mistake, so a small dose of salt should be taken regarding this launch date. It brings AI-powered features, new navigation gestures, and more. You'll then be connecting your phone to your PC and manually pushing the system update file to your phone by running commands.

As of Friday, Caltrans says SR-175 between Hopland and Lakeport is re-opened, after being closed since Sunday by the River Fire. Yosemite Valley residents must leave the valley by noon Friday, National Park Service officials said.
Similarly, a feature called "slices" will pull in specific information from your apps and put it in front of you without the need to actually open the app.
And gadget fans have just been given their first idea of when to expect the new Google flagship.
Apple gave the iPhone X to YouTube content creators ahead of its sales debut - and before other reviewers got a chance to take a look at it - to promote its best features. A Dashboard will show you how much you've been using your phone, while an App Timer will let you set limits on how much you can use an app each day. Likewise, adaptive brightness learns your display preferences for different types of light and will automatically make adjustments.
Before getting started, note that Google has only published the final version of Android Pie for its two generations of Pixel phones at the moment. You'll need to install the Android SDK Platform Tools package on your computer, which interfaces with your device through ADB, a command line tool.
